The legacy of Poplar Springs
Growing up, we spent many a summer vacation or family reunion together in Bonifay. A small rural town in the Florida Panhandle. Visiting our grandparents, Henry and Arrine Myrick, there were several things we expected. When arriving to the house, you entered the side door. Never the front or you would miss the cake stand just inside the door which always had a cake in it. When all our families visited at the same time, the screened-in porch along the front and side of the house became a giant bedroom for the kids. Dinners were either the latest dish featured in a popular magazine or standard country classics, but they were all good and we all ate at the same time.
Poplar Springs, in Caryville, just west of Bonifay, was a recreational haven for African-Americans in the segregated south during the mid 1900’s. There, they would have picnics, church gatherings and go fishing. My grandfather was smart enough to purchase land in this area for his children and they were smart enough to let their children utilize the land now rather than wait until it was “passed on”. Thus, began Poplar Springs Legacy, LLC.
We are brothers, sisters and cousins. We are spouses, grandparents, aunts and uncles. We are veterans, former law enforcement and government employees. We work in finance, IT, healthcare, education, blue collar and white collar. We are everyman. We recognize the stressors that affect you versus someone else. We experience the same things which keep you awake at night. We suffer the same health issues you do.
PSL, LLC was born out of the realization that many of the people whose well-being could be greatly affected by the benefits of CBD where either prohibited because of the levels of THC present in many of the brands available or because of a lack of knowledge on what exactly CBD was. So, we are embarking on a journey of advocacy and education. We want to be a source of information and guidance on the road to a greater understanding of CBD and how it may help you. With that, we hope to open a whole new world of care and health awareness to you. Welcome to the PSL family.
